Bike Insurance - New training scheme for riders keeps costs down - 18/03/2008

A new Enhanced Rider Scheme has been launched by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) with the motorcycle industry, the scheme encourages bikers to take stock of their riding skills and identify any need for further training.
This scheme is part of a number of initiative to highlight options for bikers to reduce the risk of accidents and the price of bike insurance.
The DSA has developed a syllabus working closely with training experts, it is aimed at post test riders that have full bike licences which will improve their riding skills regardless of their previous experience.
The Enhanced Rider Scheme will work through a team of accredited trainers who will identify each individual’s training needs. A combination of practical and theoretical learning will be tailor made to help the individual rider improve their riding ability.
Any rider who demonstrate that they are fully capable and competent will be given a certificate which states this.
