It covers you for third party death, third party injury and third party damage. The second type is third party fire and theft bike insurance.

This covers all of the above, as well as fire, miscellaneous damage and theft cover. The third type is comprehensive bike insurance. This covers both of the above plus accidental damage.

There is superbike insurance, which specialise in the sport bike market, and will provide cover even if the driver has little experience or has a conviction.
