It has been revealed that a teenage motorcyclist has been convicted after he was found guilty of a hit and run involving a seven-year-old boy.
The child was left injured and unconscious after the 17-year-old Grimsby boy drove into him and dragged him along the road.
Grimsby Youth Court found the teen guilty of aggravated vehicle-taking and dangerous driving. The victim was injured after he was playing around concrete traffic bollards.
The teenager admitted separate offences of aggravated vehicle-taking, involving taking, driving and damaging a quad bike, and having no bike insurance on January 23. In addition he admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour on October 7.
He was given a one-year supervision order, banned from driving for a year and must pass an extended retest.
His parents were ordered to pay £50 compensation.
The defendant claimed “I wasn’t riding it”, despite his fingertips being found on the bikes front tank.
