Give a wide birth to motorists listening to blues music whilst driving. That’s the conclusion of a recent study which found that blues listeners are more likely to be caught speeding than fans of any other music genre.
The survey, by Saga Motor Insurance, found that country, hip hop and reggae fans were the next fastest drivers with the accolade for the nation’s safest motorists going to pop and rock fans.
Lovers of country music were the most likely to lose their no-claims bonus on their car insurance by being involved in a minor road accident. Surprisingly, classical and easy listening enthusiasts came second.
Saga also discovered that the favourite song on the roads of Britain is Bat Out Of Hell by Meatloaf followed by Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and Steppenwolf’s Born To Be Wild.
“Whatever type of music people are tuned into behind the wheel, being careful about staying within the law is of the utmost importance,” said Saga chief executive, Andrew Goodsell.
