The car insurance market in the UK is highly competitive with a whole range of different companies trying to entice customers to buy their products. Some insurers target particular customer’s demographics such as women, who are seen as lower risk drivers.
Targeting women drivers has become more popular over the years and again this part of the market is highly saturated with many companies vying for the female customer’s attention. In order to stand out one insurer has designed a new insurance package that aims to attract the female competition by introducing benefits such as handbag cover, priority roadside support and female friendly repairers.
The product manager for the insurers stated that they had done their research to find out what was important to women before designing the product to meet their needs. Other benefits including in the deal are a mobile phone locator and a replacement car within 2 hours after an accident. Links with high street shops are also being offered as an added incentive.
