The majority of drivers in the UK face premium increases at each yearly renewal of their car insurance, those about to renew are being told to look around for a better deal.
Graeme Trudgill stated “Some insurers might be putting up their rates by six per cent but others won't be and there's always a chance that someone else around the corner will have a better deal for you,"
Many car insurers have been making a huge loss in profits which is the reason those renewing are seeing a jump in their premiums. They need to make up these losses and unfortunately they do this by charging you more.
The price of car insurance has been highlighted in the news recently, more complaints are being received and the number unable to afford car insurance is increasing.
The AA performed a study which discovered the average policy had increased by over 5% in the last 12 months to nearly £700.
Car insurance is a legal requirement so customers face little choice but to pay the increase, just be sure to look around first as you could save over £50 a year.
