Aviva car insurance, UK had launched a Road Respect campaign for improving the driving habits of British motorists.
Aviva’s RAC unit carried out a survey which stated that one third of the drivers get annoyed with the other road users three times a week. The survey was also informative for those drivers who are ignorant about the various maddening driving behaviours.
The study revealed that 68% of motorists who responded to the survey took offence at drivers who drove with one hand on their car wheel and the other on their mobile phones. 65% of the motorists stated their anger when vehicles took a turn without flashing the indicator. The study also stated that 45% of the motorists could not stand those driving below the speed limit.
70% of the respondents revealed their gratitude towards other motorists and 20% of the motorists said that they drive with respect and civility all the times.
Adrian Tink, RAC motoring strategist said that the main aim behind the campaign was to promote good driving habits and practices. The campaign will surely make a difference to other road users.
