Car insurance increase for those breaking the law - 22/04/2008
|
Car insurance policies are hiking up premiums for drivers who break the law. While most people are aware that if they have a crash and make a claim their premiums will increase.
In addition, it is well know that if you get caught for speeding and end up with points on your licence you will also suffer higher premiums. However many people are not aware that being caught driving whilst using your mobile phone could also affect the price of your insurance.
Driving and using your mobile phone has been illegal since 2003, unless you have a properly installed hands free kit. If you were previously caught you would have most probably faced a fine and penalty points.
Now you are also likely to face an increase in your car insurance premiums as one of the country’s largest insurers has announced that they will be raising premiums by 30% for those caught for this offense.
