No claims bonus protected indefinitely by insurer - 24/04/2008

Drivers this week will have their no claims discount permanently protected by a leading car insurance provider.
Esure has introduced a 'protection for life' element to its policies which will allow customers to make more than one claim and not lose the no claims discount.
Mike Pickard, head of risk and underwriting at Esure said: "Our ‘protection for life' will give peace of mind to drivers with us - and those who subsequently join us - that their protected no claim discount level remains safe even if they're unlucky enough to suffer more than the occasional claim."
Statistics from the insurer show that up to 37 per cent of drivers are unaware that usually only a set amount of claims are allowed before the no claims bonus is lost. Once a motorist has exceeded the limit premiums can rise significantly.
Esure have informed current customers that they will also benefit from the protection for life scheme if they presently have standard discount protection.
