A new study has revealed that drivers who are caught up in dangerous driving could put the success of their car insurance claims at risk.
The poll conducted by Sainsbury’s found that up to 41 per cent of drivers had in the last six months carelessly eaten food while driving, just as 14 per cent admitted using their mobile phone while on the road.
Car insurers have recently warned that apart from having their claims rejected, drivers who get involved in a crash while using a mobile phone would be slammed with higher insurance premiums.
“Unfortunately, many motorists may not have considered the dangers behind some of their actions,” said a statement from Sainsbury’s.
Meanwhile, Tesco has launched a new range of car warranties with prices starting at £9.90 a month.
Customers will be able to protect themselves against car repairs cost with the warranties and can be purchased for any vehicle that is up to 10 years old and has had less than 100,000 miles on the clock.
The warranties also provide cover for most electrical and mechanical faults.
