Tesco Car Insurance has added three new products to its current car insurance range which are designed to attract customers worried by the increasing cost of repairs and maintenance. In the current economic climate, there are a significant number of motorists who are greatly concerned by these costs.
In order to offer some kind of relief in the event of serious costly repairs, Tesco car insurance are offering a warranty product, which will insure your car much like a warranty.
The three warranty products on offer are available for cars of up to ten years old, and will cover the cost of labour and parts in the event of repairs needing to be carried out on the vehicle.
The three products which offer varying standards of cover have been jokingly dubbed 'value', 'standard' and 'finest', after the three ranges of food products which Tesco famously offer at varying costs and qualities.
In addition to being less than ten years old, vehicles must have less than 100,000 miles on the clock to qualify for the warranty products. Prices for the cover start at £99 per year and policyholders can choose their own mechanic to carry out the repairs.
Head of insurance at Tesco car insurance, Allan Burns, has predicted there will be "heavy demand", saying: "Many motorists worry about the cost of repairs but up until now it has been quite difficult to buy a warranty once a manufacturer's has lapsed."
The products look set to be rather popular and according to experts are quite specialist and possibly one of the cheapest options out there at the moment for this kind of cover.
