The new Skoda Superb has been named as one of the cheapest cars of its type to insure, making the once ridiculed car an attractive option for many.
It was the most competitively rated car in the upper medium price bracket, gaining an insurance rating of 6E for the diesel engine, three positions higher than the previous Skoda Superb, resulting in a significant saving on car insurance.
The petrol ran version of the Skoda Superb was also successful in receiving a lower insurance rating than its predecessors, sitting as it does in insurance band 7E. The car, which costs just over £15,000, offers Superb value for money, as it is cheaper to insure, efficient on petrol and comes with a low price tag.
The new model benefits from a much improved vehicle security system, which brings down the cost of insurance, as well as a low purchase price.
Skoda have worked hard to design a relatively simple engine to keep the cost of repairs down, in addition to making parts widely available and again, competitively priced.
Chris Horrell, Product Marketing Manager at Skoda UK, comments: “The new Superb has achieved much improved ratings thanks to enhanced vehicle security, competitive pricing and low cost of parts and repairs. All of these factors contribute to lower insurance premiums for our customers.”
Many will be considering the cost of insurance when making new car purchases as everyone is feeling the effects of the credit crunch and looking for new ways in which to save money.
A recent survey showed that the majority of buyers do not check how much their insurance will cost before purchasing their car, however, as people are forced to become more cautious with money, more people will investigate the price of insurance before making a purchase.
