A recent research survey has indicated that more drivers over the age of fifty that are choosing to purchase second hand cars, will opt for a car which has provided more miles to the gallon. The reason behind this is because this can help to lower the cost of their car insurance.
Roughly 32 per cent of drivers said that they were not as bothered with the make, model or colour of the vehicle, as were with how economically efficient the car was, according to research from the over 50'sinsurance provider, RIAS Insurance. Four per cent of British motorists said that the age of the car was a main concern to them, while five per cent said that the engine size was their major concern.
RIAS's managing director Janet Connor, stated that many people are worried about the coast of keeping a car.
