Swiftcover has made a turnaround in relation to their motor insurance cover. The firm uses adverts that are fronted by rock star Iggy Pop, who stated in the commercials that, “I got it Swiftcovered”.
However Iggy Pop was not even covered by the insurance firm. And in addition, Swiftcover did not provide car insurance for entertainers.
The Car insurance provider received complaints from viewers and advertising watchdogs banned the advert from being aired, because it was cited as misleading. The ban is still being upheld.
However the insurance provider has now reversed the ban and will provide car insurance policies for people who work as entertainers, such as musicians.
Tina Shortle, the marketing director of Swiftcover, said: “Iggy Pop and Swiftcover have made motor insurance interesting, sending our sales souring by almost a third. We’d be crazy to lose Iggy.
“We appreciate some musicians were disappointed they could not get ‘swiftcovered’, so we now insure musicians.”
