A price comparison site has revealed that the cost of car insurance can vary greatly depending on where drivers live in the UK.
Research by the group exposed that the cheapest place in Great Britain for car insurance was in Truro in Cornwall, where £355.72 was found to be the average rate paid by motorists.
However, overall, drivers in Scotland witness the lowest prices for the cover, with seven postcodes in the country taking places in the top ten cheapest areas.
Steve Sweeney, head of motor insurance at an insurance group, stated crime hazards influence car costs greatly:
“Insurers who don't assess motor insurance on an individual basis may adopt a blanket approach and many motorists could find their insurance is quite high to compensate for this.”
