How does a ‘no claims bonus’ work?

A no claims bonus is certainly worth having in any car insurance policy as it can greatly reduce the cost of your insurance, by as much as 70%. It is a scheme designed to reflect the risk you carry at being insured and is a reward for driving carefully. You obtain the bonus by making no claims and, by doing so, prove you are a safe driver.

In some cases, you can even keep your no claims discount even if you make a claim. This is because claims are divided into two groups, a fault claim and a not fault claim. If you make a fault claim than you may lose some or your entire ‘no claims bonus’, if you make a not fault claim then your ‘no claims bonus’ shouldn’t be affected.
