Research conducted by experts in the health care industry has suggested that health insurance companies, can increase the premium cost of a policy holder, even if they are affected by the slightest problems, relating to mental health.
Though more in depth and current research must be completed to evaluate these finding, it is believed that, anxiety, stress or mild depression; which can be caused by busy and high pressured work schedules, can significantly increase the premiums of an individual, while some firm can even refuse to provide health insurance policies to people, who are affected with such conditions.
Medical insurance firms, look to both the past and present mental heath of an applicant to work out how likely they are to make a claim.
