The Mortgage & Lifestyle Protection is a new policy which has been launched by LV=, it provides cover against accident, sickness and unemployment and customers can choose between level or index-linked living expenses protection.
These health insurance packages have a bespoke quality in that the mortgage repayments and living expenses cover can be arranged over different terms, taking into account the fact that the need for income protection may not end when the mortgage is paid off.
For example, if the candidate for the package was a male in his late twenties, early thirties with a low risk occupation, overall he could look to pay a total of approximately £30.00 per month. If the policyholder has to stay off work then the accident and sickness cover pays out until the person is able to return to work, similarly this cover will pay out until the plan ends or the policyholder dies.
Cover is available both to people who are employed by companies as well as those who work for themselves or freelance.
