Recent findings of the NHS trusts in England show that many are failing to meet standard hygiene regulations, and risk losing their license, making health insurance far more desirable.
The Government’s health watchdog said that 41 hospitals along with 62 other NHS organisations are failing to meet many parts of the hygiene code, introduced in October 2006. This sparked the concern about the spread of MRSA and other hospital superbugs. The number of hospitals violating the code has increased despite warnings from the Department of Health and the prime ministers deep-clean programme.
The hospitals now have 10 months to clean up their acts before they have to undergo a regulatory regime in April. With the growing waiting lists and hygiene under scrutiny, health insurance is being viewed as a necessity for the public’s peace of mind, and more people than ever are now looking for the best deals possible.
