William Russell has announced the launch of a moratorium underwriting to be included in all of its health insurance plans.
According to the global expatriate insurance specialist, the moratorium underwriting has simplified medical history declaration on all individual expatriates’ health insurance plans.
William Russell sales director James Cooper says: “IFAs have told us that the biggest hassle of taking setting up private medical insurance is the need for their clients to remember and record every single health condition and medical consultation on the application. We’ve dealt with this problem by completely removing the need for expats to declare their previous medical history, making the application process simple, straightforward and above all fast.”
Additionally, the insurer says that a significant number of expatriates with pre-existing medical conditions and who have continuously been insured for the last 2 years will now qualify for cover. However, eligibility of the pre-existing medical conditions is subject to the 2-year period being free from treatment, check-ups or symptoms.
Members will also receive full international health insurance cover for all conditions excluding pre-existing conditions from the date cover starts. The insurance provider says that expatriates will be required to declare their height, weight and their doctor’s details when filling out the new international private medical insurance application form available online.
The moratorium underwriting will carry a 4% premium although a full medical underwriting will remain available to all clients.
