A government initiative has allowed Britons to use a top up system when using the NHS, without it affecting their treatment.
Bupa UK Health Insurance has revealed what the government has in store and is largely encouraged by proceedings.
The arrangement means that NHS users are able to pay for private medical treatment without losing their NHS privileges.
Managing director, Dr Natalie-Jane Macdonald commented, this could be a tricky decade ahead for the NHS, any system which attempts to help ease the burden is welcomed. Dr Macdonald went on to reiterate that Bupa remained confident that full private medical insurance remained an attractive option to Britons.
Sounding the death knell, Bupa’s research has suggested that the NHS could be on its knees within five years. Due to lack of funding the NHS will continue to need to stumble across new and ingenious ways to stay afloat.
