Recent findings have revealed that more than 15 per cent of the UK public have cancelled dental appointments, due to their cost a new study by Saga Health Cash Plan has revealed.
Routine healthcare is just one of the many victims of the current economic climate, with more than a quarter (27 per cent) of Brits cancelling fee based appointments.
The research reveals that the older generation is more aware of the importance of regular health checks, as they are less likely to cancel appointments, incomparison to younger people. One in ten (10 per cent) over people, who are over the age of 50 have neglected dental check ups in the past 12 months, compared to 19 per cent of under 50 year olds.
Andrew Goodsell, the Chief Executive, Saga Group, said: "Your health should always be a top priority and it is encouraging to see the over 50s recognise the importance of optimal health. Having a cash plan in place helps lift the financial burden of paying for treatment, as well as encouraging customers to make regular visits to health professionals."
