Stats disclosed by a popular site have revealed that alcohol on the slopes is causing serious hazards for skiers.
The situation is so bad it was found that drunks endanger one in four winter sports revellers.
Most of them also have no health insurance cover but the ones who have, are unaware insurers will not pay out on claims involving alcohol.
Nearly three million Brits will hit ski slopes this season, which represents a 50 per cent rise on last year.
It is no surprise that accidents are on a rise, yet worryingly 12 per cent of snow seekers will not have health insurance.
The study showed that one in four skiers admitted to setting off down the slopes after consuming more than four units of alcohol.
Interestingly, 41 per cent of over-30s believe their health insurance would cover them for an accident, regardless of the fact if it was caused by alcohol consumption.
"The unpalatable reality is skiing and snowboarding brings a much higher-than-average risk of injury which, without proper cover, could result in a family facing bills amounting to thousands of pounds," said one of the study team members.
