Customers take out child healthcare
Additionally, there is free online child health information. Furthmore there is accommodation for one parent when staying with the child in a hospital up to 15 years old.
A customer, who has recently taken out Child Health Solutions for her son, said: "A recent change of jobs meant that I no longer had private health cover paid for by my employer."
She also said: "Whilst I am happy to use the NHS myself, I want to ensure that my son has access to prompt medical treatment."
The customer added: "When I saw their advert I called Child Health Cover and was delighted by the cover they offered. Not only was the price affordable, but it offers all the benefits I'd expect from a children's policy."
Rebecca Freebody, the Head of Propositions Management & Market Development at the insurer, said: "Unlike many child healthcare products, Child Health Solutions includes benefits tailored specifically for children."
She also said: "We are committed to offering products which work in conjunction with existing NHS provision and whilst the NHS is particularly good at providing paediatric care, particularly for the very young, we recognise that there are certain specialities - such as speech therapy, physiotherapy and dental care - which can be complimented by the private sector. We've developed Child Health Solutions with this in mind."
Older Britons concerned with NHS health provisions
With these provisions children can be covered should they need health care and the necessary financial assistance. However at the other end of the scale, over 50s are showing their concerns over the health provisions of the NHS. These concerns are shifting people's attention towards private health cover.
Health policies which provides health cover for over 50s,showed that 87 per cent of Britons have used the NHS in the last two years (and 94 per cent for those who are 75 and older). The good news is that 43 per cent of the over 50s rated their experience with the NHS as 'very good'.
However research conducted by the group showed that a fifth of people aged over 50 think the NHS has got worse or much more worse over the last two years. Looking ahead and with a potential squeeze on NHS spending and staff costs in mind, a staggering 35 per cent of over 50s believe the NHS will worsen over the next five years.
Avoiding the NHS waiting lists, having flexibility to when and where to be treated, and the levels of cleanliness in hospitals, are the top reasons why more than 500,000 over 50s have already stopped relying completely on the NHS and have chosen to taken out private health insurance.
Andrew Goodsell, the executive chairman at the group, said: "Older people are very reliant on the NHS. The worry for many people is that pressures to cut public spending could adversely affect the quality of health care.
Mr Goodsell also added: "Health is a key concern of today's over 50s who are more active than any previous generation. If they suffer a medical problem, they want to get treated and recuperate as quickly as possible to get on with their busy lives."
