There has been a rise in the percentage of problems occurring on part of misbehaving neighbours in the UK, it has been revealed. In the last two years, problems with misbehaving neighbours, has escalated to around 33 percent, according to a survey. In a poll conducted among 1200 homeowners, found that 12.5 percent had a serious problem with their neighbours. The last time this happened was back in 1997, according to Halifax home insurance.
There has been evidence of anti social behaviour all across the UK. The latest to indicate the same has been a mother who killed herself and her daughter owing to years of abuse by local youngsters. Inquiries into the matter lead to some caustic criticism of the authorities who did nothing to help the harassed victims. Prime Minister, Gordon Brown has taken a pledge to crackdown on such anti social activity in the nation.
The research, that was carried out by FDS international on behalf of Halifax home insurance, claimed that the biggest factor of strain was noise, followed by scare tactics, intimidation, rude behaviour and disputes about fences and boundaries.
The panel that conducted the research stated that the 17 percent of the households were subject to a lot of noise from their neighbours. A rise of nearly 34 percent was observed as compared to cases reported of a similar nature in the year 2007.
