Britons lack content cover - 21/03/2008
|
A new survey conducted by confused.com has revealed that 25% of all homeowners do not have contents insurance.
This is poor sign for home insurance as many people have been left under covered. Homes increasingly highly valuable items, such as computers, plasma screen TVs and DVD players.
A typical family of 4 would only need to pay £43.98 per week to insure contents worth £40,000. This is substantial cover that could help a family recover from an accident or burglary in their home.
As always, homeowners looking for insurance cover have been advised to search for the best deals and never assume that a specialist insurer offers the cheapest deal.
Confused.com’s managing director, Debra Williams, has also advised home owners to take sensible precautions such as locking doors and windows and not keeping empty boxes of expensive equipment on display.
