Tesco have announced that customers can receive a 33 per cent discount on their home insurance if they buy their cover before 21st June 2008. This is a further reduction on top of the 10 per cent consumers are offered if they buy the policy online.

Head of Tesco Home Insurance, Allan Burns said, “This represents a substantial discount on home insurance. Even if your policy doesn’t expire in the next couple of months, it’s worth getting a quote to see what’s on offer.”

The deal, which is available to new customers purchasing their cover via the internet or by telephone, is applicable to both building and contents insurance for the first year of the policy.

Tesco has also recently announced the launch of a life insurance policy for people aged over 50 years old. This allows customers to leave their family a tax free lump sum should they pass away
