Home security is a major matter of concern amongst the over 50’s, research has found.
A recent survey carried out by RIAS revealed that home insurance customers above the age of 50 years are extremely worried about the security of their property.
The survey published that almost 23% of the people above the age of 50 years are very anxious about being robbed today as compared to last year. Janet Connor, managing director of RIAS commented on the study by stating that it is really sad that so many people over 50 are worried about theft and housebreak.
The home insurance provider offers beneficial information and hints on improving the security systems including the installation of key-operated window locks and mortice deadlocks. It also provides useful tips on multi-locking systems on UPVC terrace doors.
Seeing the rising concern among the people over 50 years, Andrew Goodsell, executive chairman of the Saga Group recommended that all the older people welcoming their family and children for an extended stay programme should also consider their Home insurance premiums.
