According to recent research by Sainsbury’s home insurance, many customers do not have adequate home cover, this has been highlighted by the damage done by the recent storms across the UK.
The research reveals that over one and three quarter million people in Britain do not have sufficient buildings insurance. Astoundingly 656,000 do not even know if they have this type of home insurance.
39% of people without buildings cover believe it is unnecessary, in comparison cost is not important with only 2% giving this as their reason.
Since the summer’s flooding of last year, home insurance is something which is much more important to people. Everyone is more aware that if they are not properly covered they could stand to lose everything if disaster should strike their home and/or belongings.
It is vital that people make sure they are covered for all eventualities, and are aware exactly what insurance they possess and what this covers them for.
