Music plays a big part in many of our lives whether you have an instrument or a cd collection you need to ensure it is covered under your home insurance policy.
Halifax home insurance has revelled nearly 8 million homes in the UK have at least one musical instrument in them.
Martyn Foulds a Senior Claims Manager from Halifax home insurance said "Although musical instruments and recording equipment have undoubtedly become more affordable, they're still not items that can be easily replaced if the unthinkable happens."
Also many homes have expensive music systems, cds and record collections that are not insured, this is usually because customers have changed the product initially insured or added to there collection so the sum insured is incorrect.
Martyn Foulds suggests any item worth more than £1,500 should be listed on an insurance policy.
If you purchase music regularly or change your music system it is important to inform your insurance provider, failure to do so may result in your claim being rejected.
