Home Insurance - Fire safety to reduce claims - 20/11/2008

Residents of a West Yorkshire town have been offered advice this week which could help them avoid having to make a home insurance claim. Fire and Rescue teams visited the people of Shipley as part of a multi-agency day of action.

The scheme was called on to provide education on fire prevention; the emergency service’s visit could see a decrease in the number of insurance claims this winter.

Acting Inspector Andy Croasdale stated: “We are aware that the Bolton Woods area is one which needs support so we have put together this day of action to help residents in a number of ways.”

The event was hosted by Airedale and North Bradford police and Bradford City Council in an attempt to target criminals, improve the appearance of the Bolton Woods area of Shipley and to help people get back into work.
