In a bid to enhance its online insurance offering to its consumers, Santander has launched its very first Home insurance website. Named as Santander Home insurance, it is the very first home insurance brand by Santander. Something noteworthy about the product is that this will be the first product in insurance to actually bear the name of the bank. The banking group will be having rebrands in the year for its businesses Abbey, Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley sometime at the end of next year.
The chief executive for Santander, Miguel Sard has said that the launch of this new home insurance product is targeted keeping in mind the shift n consumer pattern from passive to more active. The consumer today wants to conduct more research and buy products from aggregators and websites.
Sard also went on further to say that they had been selling insurance for quite sometime in the past. This new move is in a bid to harness the potential market presented by web buyers.
Santander has also made arrangements with the BGL groups, Junction to manage its online business and ensure that their products appear on aggregator sites.
In addition to this, the Spanish banking organisation has extended its sponsorship deal with McLaren and signed a new one with F1 Ferrari.
