If you post any house party invites with the locations and the timings on social networking websites, get ready to kiss your home insurance cover goodbye.
A leading financial organisation has warned that posting party invites on sites like Facebook and Myspace could cost you dearly. In the event of damage or theft, the house owners would not be covered, insurers stated.
The financial institution commissioned a search of about 100 parties in the UK and found that atleast 50 of them had made an admission of time and venue openly on websites.
A home insurance manager from the organisation, said that there are rising concerns about the manner in which people just choose to put up details about their homes on the sites. This kind of information was accessible to anybody, he said, including gatecrashers.
Halloween parties or fancy dress, with a number of guests well disguised in masks and elaborate dresses, can become the ultimate perfect setting for thieves and delinquents.
This leaves homes particularly vulnerable to theft and damage, the insurer warned.
