British property owners have been given advice by a home insurance group, so they can save money this winter and New Year.
The group issued advice to homeowners on a number of small DIY projects that they should carry out to ensure that their property is weather-proof.
With the Met Office forecasting heavy snow across the country again, protecting one’s home has never been more important.
According to the insurance provider, it is vital to regularly check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the home to ensure they are working correctly. Homeowners should also insulate their pipes to avoid them freezing or bursting, the company stated.
The firm has also urged home owners to make sure their driveway is clear and safe, especially after snowfall, to avoid any injuries.
James Hillon, functional leader of the insurance group, commented that these precautionary steps could be beneficial.
“Of course, accidents will always happen, so we're simply encouraging people to take the time to think about what might go wrong and what they could do to prevent it,” he said.
