Looking after your families wellbeing is usually at the forefront of any loving parent, however this provision can sometimes stop at simply bringing home the bacon. Your current pay cheque pays the bills and funds your current lifestyle, without the proper investing, your families future could be pretty bleak if you were unfortunately take out of the picture.
Interestingly the annual MetLife study of Employee Benefits Trends showed that women are less likely than their male counterparts to have sourced adequate life insurance coverage. In general the study showed women to have insured their life for a sum akin to twice their household income, whereas men look to obtain three times their household income coverage. What is interesting is that some 64% of women in the work place are “very concerned about their families’ financial futures in the event of their premature death”.
Even more worrying is that nearly half of the women working full time have not sought any form of life insurance protection whatsoever.
