The high street bank, Barclays has recently signed a deal with the insurance provider, Norwich Union, so that it can be provided with life insurance policies to sell to their wider customer audience.
The policies which will be called 'Simplified Life' will be launched this week while promoting for the products will begin next month.
The partnership will see the bank providing, both level and decreasing term, insurance products, as non-advised sales through their website. The website will give customers the opportunity of a 'hassle-free' quote option and an online application facility.
Gary Duggan, Managing Director for Consumer Lending and Insurance for Barclays said: "The Norwich Union partnership enables us to expand our protection offering to include life insurance - a product which is essential to many customers. We already have a strong relationship with Norwich Union in relation to our motor, travel and home insurance and we look forward to working with them in this area."
