Holiday makers in the UK are being encouraged to take out appropriate travel insurance policies, after an apparent increase in winter sports holidays and relating activity trips was seen.
Holiday makers were also advised to speak with their insurance providers and opt for the policies that will include cover for any equipment that will be used or activities the may take part in.
In relation to the holiday makers, Chris Price of Direct Line said: “They should discuss the cover they need for the activities and equipment is likely to be used. Those travelling in large groups should ask their travel insurance company whether they are eligible for any discounts on their premiums.”
A recent report by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, revealed that 31 per cent of British holiday makers, fail to take out travel insurance, which covers them for the activities they take part in while on holiday.
