Britons are being reminded to not lose sight of their insurance needs as they look forward to the fun of summer.
The summer is a great time for families to take a break away from it all and travel the world. We go to great pains to plan and organize every part of our holidays, but according to research we’re forgetful when it comes to travel insurance.
Of those us who actually remember to take out travel insurance, one in four of us have no idea of what our travel insurance covers. HSBC figures show that 55 per cent don’t know what is included in or excluded and 27 per cent don’t even intend on checking their policy before flying out.
"Few people would dream of taking their family on a holiday abroad without travel insurance, but many are potentially leaving themselves and their loved ones exposed by not ensuring that they are adequately covered by the policy they have," said Michael Oliver, head of current accounts at HSBC.
