LV= has announced plans to launch two new travel policies as summer approaches and Brits look forward to going abroad. The two policies are for annual cover and for a single trip, with both providing insurance for up to £10 million.
The policies also include personal possessions cover of £2,500 and cancellation protection of £5,000. Other benefits are £500 for loss of money, £250 to cover delays and £25,000 for legal expenses.
Managing director at LV=, John O’Roarke said, “We know that travel insurance isn’t the most exciting part of going on holiday but it is an essential part of any foreign trip. Holidaymakers spend thousands of pounds on foreign holidays, and by getting travel insurance they are protecting themselves should the trip need to be cancelled or if the unexpected happens overseas.”
Travel agent Thomson’s parent company, TUI, revealed that summer holiday sales during the last six weeks were up 9 per cent compared to the same time last year.
