A travel insurance firm has been prompt in pointing out that vaccinations could reduce instances of claim triggering illnesses.
It claimed that many travelers were confused about the probable risks of travelling to well-liked holiday destinations.
According to research conducted by the travel insurance company, it was found that at least 44 percent of the travelers do not care to find out about the vaccinations that are recommended. This includes trips overseas as well.
Atleast a third of the respondents interviewed displayed further ignorance. Over 31 percent of those interviewed said that they did not know which diseases they had already been vaccinated for.
It was been observed that holiday illnesses lead to travel insurance claims on part of the travelers and can prove to be fairly expensive for them in the future. This is due to the fact that the insurance premium they will pay in the future will spike heavily.
Getting oneself vaccinated greatly reduces this possibility. The right use of vaccinations will greatly reduce the chances of holidaymakers having to use their cover at all.
A spokesperson for the travel insurance company said that people should find out about the prerequisite vaccinations before they travel. They could do this by checking the foreign and commonwealth office before travelling.
