Gordon and Dorothy Bradley from Bolton have expressed their anger to the Manchester Evening News about how their dream cruise holiday turned into a nightmare due to their luggage being lost at Heathrow.
As a result of not having a suitcase full of their finest clothes, the couple had to borrow clothes for the evening to wine and dine in and brought jeans and t-shirts from ports to wear during the day.
The couple had waited two years to go on their £4,500 dream Caribbean cruise, only to be let down by Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 who lost their luggage. As a result, the couple were nicknamed Mr and Mrs no clothes on board the Ireland Princess.
Mr Bradley stated: “I cannot understand how something like this can happened. We are both disgusted.” They were reunited with their luggage a week after they returned home.
Although, there was a happy ending, the couple’s problem highlights the importance of having the correct travel insurance when going on vacation, whether this being general holiday insurance or cruise travel insurance.
