It is always a good idea to purchase travel insurance, and this is no more of an exception than with businessmen that frequently travel abroad. A new study has revealed that one in seven businessmen used hi-tech gadgets such as a laptop or the Blackberry phone to stay in touch with their offices, whilst they are away on a business trip.

Therefore, the study also displayed that due to the number of valuable gadgets that are taken away with them, travel insurance is increasing and travel insurance for business trips still remains to be very important. After all it only takes the step of a flip flop or a spill of a cocktail drink to ruin vulnerable technology!

The study advised that policyholders should check that their insurance policies cover their gadgets to the maximum price, in case they are ruined by a splash in the pool or they could even drop their phone in a drink!

The study also suggested that even the businessmen who go on a short break should still buy travel insurance, because medical emergencies and personal injuries are still the biggest cause of a travel claim.
