Current research has displayed that three quarters of holiday seekers are planning to purchase yearly travel insurance within the next year.

The study revealed that 85% of vacation goers are planning to take out some kind of travel insurance and 69% of travellers will take out yearly travel insurance over the next 12 months.

It is thought that purchasing annual travel cover is the best option because overall it provides lower costs for those going away more than once a year.

A spokesman from an insurance service stated: “With so many cheap flights and last minute holiday deals available to Britons, taking a mini-break is all the more appealing.”

He also commented that yearly cover is more economical: “If people are planning to go away more than once this year, it is far more cost effective to buy an annual insurance policy than numerous single trip products, giving them peace of mind all year round.”

It is advised by many insurance companies that a consumer should buy travel insurance even if they are only going away for the weekend.
