Before they pick up their skies and sunglasses, skiers have been warned to shop around for the best deal on travel insurance before they hit the slopes. By researching, a skier will then find the best value insurance policy for their travel needs.
A spokesman from the British Insurance Broker’s Association (BIBA) stated that the best way to get the best deal is to talk to an insurance broker. The key advantage to saving money therefore is to not pay too high a premium.
“When you come to buy your skiing and winter sports extension, prices can vary. Some charge 30 per cent more, some charge 50 per cent more, some charge 100 per cent more”.
However, insurers have become worried about skier’s choices due to the credit crunch as they may be making dangerous cutbacks to weather the financial storm.
Almost one in five people revealed in a study that they would not purchase travel insurance in an attempt to save on the total cost of their winter sports holiday.
