Recent figures have shown that there is a demand in the number of UK camping trips. It has been claimed that this rise is due to the effects of the credit crunch.
Chris Hilton, the head of brand at Eurocamp, said, that many Britons do enjoy the camping experience, but lack the know-how or the equipment required to go on a camping holiday themselves.
He also noted that camping can be a cheap alternative to travelling overseas for a holiday and with the recessions looking to cut deeper, British travellers are working to make saving everywhere they can.
It was also noted that travellers are considering the effects their holidays have on the environment.
Mr Hilton said that: "people are becoming increasingly eco-conscious about their travel and their impact on the environment and are choosing places close to home on that basis."
Individuals who are interested in going on a camping holiday this year, could benefits from taking out travel insurance in order to protect their belongings, while in the great outdoors.
Meanwhile, Bovril has announced that it is to open an inner-city camping experience for individuals who do not have the time to get into the country. Being set up 230 ft on top of a building in central London, the venture is being hailed as the UK's first "extreme urban campsite".
