European holidays are seen as the best choice for a getaway for British travellers according to recent findings.
Frances Tuke, a spokesperson for ABTA - The Travel Association, said that for many people, one long holiday has now become unaffordable, while multiple breaks enable a person to pay less and spread the cost over a longer period.
Something which could be of interest and also beneficial to holiday goers who take out annual multi trip travel insurance.
She also said: "We've seen a growth in travel to destinations outside the eurozone and we have seen a contraction in the market for Western Europe this year but still those destinations are the most popular due to sheer volume."
Research carried out by Visa Europe showed that 34 per cent of the respondents are now holding off planning a traditional two-week mid-summer holiday, and instead are choosing to take multiple shorter trips abroad, which are spread throughout the year.
Additionally 83 per cent of the people polled intend on taking between one and five short breaks in the year.
