If you are planning for a holiday, make sure that you consider vaccines, even if you are not going far.
Research shows that Brits are not correctly informed when preparing for foreign travel.
According to a recent study by a leading travel insurance provider, over half of holiday makers are not aware of which countries require tablets or jabs to visit safely.
Travelling abroad without taking appropriate precaution does not only leave you with the possibility of a nasty stay in hospital, but also means that your insurance policy is void and null.
The research also exposed worrying gaps in the awareness of tourists. Nearly 56 percent out of 2023 people surveyed, had no idea about which countries require medication.
Nearly one third of respondents claimed that they could not remember which vaccinations they have had and over 94 percent of the recipients were uninformed that hepatitis A and tetanus vaccinations were recommended when travelling to European destinations like Bulgaria and Slovenia.
Insurers have advised consumers to make sure that they take the appropriate vaccinations as well as purchasing a travel insurance policy.
