The UK has been revealed as the number one source of overseas travellers to Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
The nation generated nearly 400,000 visitors in 2008, accounting for 10 per cent of international air travel to the Nevada city.
Experts are of the opinion that as thousands of UK travellers embark on trips each year to Las Vegas, holidaymakers do not appear to be aware that certain standard travel insurance policies do not cover travel to America.
In the case of holidaymakers with pre-existing travel insurance policies, they might need to seek additional travel insurance cover if they travel to America.
Experts therefore advise UK holidaymakers to double check which destinations their existing travel insurance policy covers. They also said that customers should make sure this includes the US.
By taking some time to ensure pre-existing travel insurance policies offer adequate cover, holidaymakers can enjoy themselves, knowing that in case they encounter any difficulties abroad, they will be covered by their travel insurance policy.
