The Association of British Insurers has made travel insurance an integral part for any travelling overseas.
The report, submitted by Lloyds TSB, revealed that 54% of UK citizens do not consider travel insurance before going on a holiday. These facts have made travel insurance a matter of concern.
Brits are being advised to make active use of the travel insurance cover to prevent and mishap occurring overseas.
A spokesperson from the Association of British Insurers (ABI), who represents the UK insurance industry, said that travelling without the travel insurance cover can be hazardous and risky as the consequences can be worse without the financial protection of travel insurance.
He also termed it as a “false economy” stating that it can easily be deemed as irresponsible behavior.
The travel insurance necessity became prominent after the study exposed that one in ten people in the UK go on holiday without insurance and others act negligent about the need for a travel insurance cover.
Around two million people have travelled overseas for a vacation in the last week of August.
Travel insurance is vital to protect holidaymakers from suffering from financial problems through instances that may occur on or before going abroad.
