A survey has revealed the worries of commercial van and lorry drivers and has caught the attention of van insurance providers.
86 per cent of those that responded to the survey explained that they were most concerned over the amount of foreign drivers in the U.K. accusing them of reckless and dangerous driving. Road congestion and regulations that prevent them from working hours to make a living wage came in close behind on the list of their worries.
"We are working hard to address these areas of concern that our drivers have voiced wherever we can," said Andrew Blakesley, managing director at Protemp4Logistics.
Governments are trying to develop a standardized level of driving education across Europe. Plans have been unveiled by the government which would see a Europe-wide driving licence introduced. The government and officials from the EU would like to see the permit in every drivers' vehicles across the continent by 2011.
